- Director of the applying project must be from the Western Asia region or its Diaspora
- The project must be the director’s first or second full-length film (fiction, documentary, animation, hybrid, expanded cinema)
- The project must be in the work-in-progress stage, 10 - 20 min. Cut should be submitted for selection (materials with a duration of less than 10 minutes will not be accepted).
- The application can be submitted by the director/producer from the region or co-producer from countries outside of Western Asia
- Lodging of the attending project representative (producer/co-producer or director) along with up to 300 EUR for travel expenses per project (in form of reimbursement), will be covered.
Gather the following materials in a project application package - ONE PDF document.The documents should be submitted in the given order below:- Completed application form containing the general project information (DOWNLOAD the application form)
- Cover Page, including: project title (in English), name of the director and (co)producers, mention project type (fiction, documentary, animation, hybrid or expanded cinema), mention WIP Market.
- Logline (max. 2 sentences)
- Synopsis (max. 1 page)
- Director’s Statement (max. 1 page)
- Producer’s Statement (max. 1 page)
- Motivation & Goals at GAIFF Pro (max. 2 paragraphs),
- Project History, including all labs, market selections, if applicable (max. ½ page)
- Link to Film Excerpt: 10-20 minutes of audiovisual material: only links to view online are acceptable, please note we won’t download files. All works must have English subtitles added. Materials with a duration of less than 10 minutes will not be accepted. The links should be active till mid-July, 2026.
- Team Biographies (writer, director, producer, production company), including: photo, biography, filmography (main previous works including the title, year, short/feature, type (documentary, fiction, etc.) and role in the production), links to previous audiovisual works (for the Director)
- Budget Topsheet: total budget in EUR (max. 1 page)
- Financing Plan, including confirmed financing if any (max. 1 page)
- Additional Materials (if applicable, not exceeding 2 pages)

- in the order indicated in the list on the website,
- in one PDF file (max. file size 20MB),
- named after the project title, and the market section
(for example, BICYCLE THIEVES_WIPMarket)- Make sure you follow the page limits per each section, and ensure that the information is clear and readable (avoid using too small fonts or complex layouts).
- Submissions that exceed the page limits will not be read.
- Please note that you are free to submit other additional materials: however, reading them is totally optional for our readers. So please do not rely on additional materials for key information about your project: all relevant information for the application should be present in the mandatory requested materials.
